How Do You Clean A Downstem? 

Cleaning a downstem is easy. Soak it in a bag or container with iso alcohol, and salt, and gently shake.

Rinse thoroughly and repeat as necessary, for extra stubborn residue, a small wire brush dipped in iso alcohol will also help remove any remaining residue.
